ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

HUHESO FOUNDATION is a non-Profit Organization based in Tanzania Mainland was legally registered as The Foundation for Human Health and Social Development (HUHESO Foundation) under NGO act No 24 of 2002 with registration number 00NGO/08602 at Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC).


Our primary goal is to lead disadvantaged groups into development process in Tanzania and play constructive role in uniting their efforts and potentialities in society. HUHESO-FOUNDATION strives to promote dignity, equitable access to social services and resources for development and enhance Children, Youth and Women. HUHESO-FOUNDATION ensures sustainable behavioral change, HIV/AIDS and CANCER Prevention programs and promotes Children, Youth, and disabled people against HIV/AIDS.


HUHESO FOUNDATION is currently implementing the EpiC Project in Shinyanga region and Iringa Region in Fy23/24. HUHESO Foundation continue to partner with FHI 360 in Shinyanga and Iringa Region, District Health Authorities in the Regional and District Health management teams to implement EpiC program.


Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) which is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control.  It is led by FHI 360 as prime and has a five-year period of performance from 2019 to 2024.


EpiC provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and improve HIV case-finding, prevention and linkage to treatment among key and priority populations (PP). In Shinyanga region the project is implemented by HUHESO Foundation in Ushetu DC to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the response to HIV among key and vulnerable populations (KVP) and adolescent girls and young women (vAGYW). The EpiC project works closely with the Government of Tanzania (GoT) at national and sub-national levels to deliver HIV and other services tailored to the needs of these groups.


Project implemented in all districts in Iringa region targeting Vulnerable Adolescent Girls and Young Women (vAGYW) as well as Female and male who are at higher risk of getting HIV in the area, in a core package of Vulnerability-tailored client and community centered combination of HIV prevention and family planning services with traceable linkages to care, treatment and other referral services.


HUHESO FOUNDATION is therefore seeking to recruit highly qualified, experienced, motivated and dynamic individual to fill the following position: -

  1. JOB TITLE: Deputy Finance Manager 1 Position

Job Description



We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.
Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial
position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with
all tax regulations.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions
  •  Prepare budget forecasts
  •  Publish financial statements in time
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Ensure timely bank payments
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
  •  Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
  • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
  • Audit financial transactions and document
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when
    necessary
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations
    Required qualifications
  • Work experience as an Accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like Fresh Books, QuickBooks, Tally etc.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including V lookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  •  BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
  • Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
  • Not less than 2-5 years of experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance and accounting or related field
  • Knowledge of on management of health and development programs in Tanzania including familiarity with relevant national guidelines, standards and protocols. Familiarity with the public health sector at regional, district and council level and experience working with the steams.
  • Experience on managing HIV/AIDS programs at community level in Tanzania; familiarity and experience with USAID/PEPFAR-funded programs.
  • Experience in managing serving AGYW, demonstrated cultural sensitivity and sound understanding of the needs of AGYW.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of proficiency in written and spoken English communication.
  • Well-developed computer skills.
